On November 3rd, RESOLVE of
Pittsburgh and RESOLVE of
Philadelphia will be hosting an advocacy strategy session. We
are planning on introducing legislation that would mandate coverage for
the treatment and diagnosis of infertility. After the strategy
session we plan on meeting with some state legislators to discuss our
strategy. We need volunteers willing to participate and be a part of
our advocacy efforts. We will not be able to get legislation
passed without your help. E-mail
us or call our helpline today. We
need volunteers to do the following:
Advocacy Chairperson - Coordinate efforts
to get legislation passed. Assign tasks to volunteers to make this
happen. RESOLVE has information and contacts to help you through the
process. Attend Board meetings to give reports on your progress (6
meetings a year). Advocacy
Volunteers - Help the coordinator with tasks that need done to get
the legislation passed. Distribute petitions, speak in Harrisburg,
talk to the media, and send letters to your legislators.

Please keep in mind that this
year is an election year. Know where your legislators stand on
this issue. Senator Boscola has always been our BIGGEST
supporter. She has introduced legislation every year for us - it's
imperative that she get elected once again. Senator Boscola has gone
through infertility herself and knows how important this legislation is to
those struggling with infertility. Senators
Costa, Wagner, Mellow and Musto introduced Senate Bill No. 432 in February
of 2001. It has set in
session because no one would grant us a hearing in the Banking and
Insurance Committee. Help us
move it forward now! It’s
important to vote and have your voice heard.
Let's not let the next
Bill die in session as previous ones have.
